B.J.M. Admission 2020: Inter Portfolio 1 (Apply during 4th Nov - 16th Dec 2019)

Specific qualifications

  (1) Thai students graduated from Thai School or equivalent must
meet the following requirements

          -  Completion of secondary school education or equivalen
          -  Attainment of an average score of at least 3.00 or equivalent in further
             Mathayom education
          - An English proficiency test score of one of the following types within
            2 years up to the date of application:   

                          TOEFL minimum score 79 (Internet-based) OR

                          IELTS (Academic) minimum score 6.5 OR

                          TU-GET minimum score 550 OR

                          SAT minimum score 450 (Evidence Based Reading and Writing)

   (2)  Thai students or foreign students graduated from abroad or
           international schools in Thailand  must meet the following requirements:

           -  Completion of secondary school education or equivalent
          - The attainment of an average score of at least 3.00 or equivalent in                           
             further Mathayom education, or equivalents. The following conditions shall be applied:

               1. British education system

                        1.1 Applicants shall have GCE ‘A’ Level results in 3 subjects,
                             with grades A*-C; or

                         1.2 Applicants shall have Cambridge Pre-U results in 3 subjects,
                               scoring at least M1 or D1-D3 in each subject.

               2. American/Canadian system

                   - Applicants taking the GED tests before May 2560 BE
                     shall have GED results in 5 subjects with a minimum score of 500 in each subject.

                   - Applicants taking the GED tests after May 2560 BE shall have GED results in 4
subjects, scoring at least 165 in each subject. Applicants must also submit an official high
school transcript of grade 10 and 11.
      This qualification is equivalent to high school diploma in Language Arts or Arts-Math
(as previously called) programs only.

               3. New Zealand’s system

                   3.1 Applicants shall have the New Zealand National Certificate of Educational
Achievement (NCEA) under supervision of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA)
with no less than 80 credits, consisting of
                   - Subjects in Level 2 or higher, comprising of no less than 60 credits; and                                         
                   - Subjects in Level 1 or higher, comprising of no less than 20 credits
                   English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is also a subject included in the consideration.
                  Applicants shall have an NCEA level 2 certificate, a Record of Achievement, and
a certificate from New Zealand Qualifications Authorithy (NZQA) confirming the level,
numbers of subjects and number of credit of each subject.

                        All in all, the criteria under Paragraph 2.3.1 apply to high school graduates from New Zealand from the academic year of 2553 BE; or

                  3.2 Applicants shall have the New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) under supervision of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) with no less than 60 credits from at least 5 different subjects in Level 2 of higher and 2 compulsory subjects; namely

                        - English (literacy) in Level 2 or higher, at least 4 credits

                        - Mathematics (numeracy) in Level 2 or higher, at least 4 credits

                        All in all, the criteria under Paragraph 2.3.2 apply to high school graduates from New Zealand from the academic year of 2552 BE;

              4. International Baccalaureate (IB) Programs

                  4.1 Applicants shall have a High School Diploma from a school in Thailand approved by the Ministry of Education; or

                  4.2 Applicants who graduated from overseas shall have an IB Diploma: that is; having a total score of no less than 24 points from 5 subjects and 1 elective subject, and shall have passed the evaluation on Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and Creativity, Action & Service (CAS) under the criteria of International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO); or

                  4.3 Applicants have IB Diploma Course Results (IBCR) of at least 5 different subjects and receiving no lower than Grade 3 in each subject.

             5. International programs from other countries outside paragraph 2.1-2.4

                Please check the equivalency of overseas qualifications from the Ministry of Education’s Announcement on Equivalency of Overseas Qualifications announced on 18 January 2545 BE.

             6. For applicants who graduated or obtained test scores prior to 1 August 2562 BE, the Council of University Presidents of Thailand’s Criteria on Equivalency of High School Qualifications in University Admission, 2562 BE are applied.                                             

            - An English proficiency test score of one of the following types within 2 years up to the date of application:                             

                              TOEFL minimum score 79 (Internet-based) OR

                               IELTS (Academic) minimum score 6.5 OR

                              TU-GET minimum score 550 OR

                              SAT minimum score 450 (Evidence Based Reading and Writing)

Number of Admissions: 20            

Remarks: In case the number of qualified applicants in Inter Portfolio 1 Round is less than 20, the remaining slots will be added to the next round.

 

Selection criteria

            Selection criteria consist of 2 parts listed below :

            (1) Portfolio + Statement of Purpose     

                        1.1) The applicant must have 2 years continuous experience, activities and/or attending the competition which related to mass communication fields AND/OR

                        1.2) the applicant must receive the national awards or international   

            (2) English-Language Interview

 

Admission Procedure

                        1) Fill in an application form through our website : www.jc.tu.ac.th/bjm and submit it online.

                        2) Print out the completed application form. Verify correctness and completeness of the information before printing out the application form.  The university places importance only to the information provided in the on-line application.

                        3) Print out the Pay-in slip. Pay application fee (1,000 Baht) via Siam Commercial Bank. Please note that failure to meet payment deadline results in automatic withdrawal of application.

                        4) Retain application payment receipt from bank.

                        5) Send the documents to within 17 Dec 2019. The program reserves the right to withdraw applicants if they fail to submit the required documents before the deadline. Here are the list of documents:

                                    5.1 Portfolio and Statement of Purpose  

                                          - The applicant must have 2 years continuous experience, activities and/or attending the competition which related to mass communication fields AND/OR

                                          - The applicant must receive the national awards or international

                                    5.2 A complete application form (printed from www.jc.tu.ac.th/bjm) with 1 inch photo (Taken in full-face view with student uniform or polite attire, hat and sunglasses are not allowed in your photo)

                                    5.3 A certified copy of identification card or passport (for foreign applicant only)

                                    5.4 A certified copy of high school certificate or equivalency certificate

                                          - Graduated high school students must submit a certified copy of high school certificate or equivalency certificate

                                          - Students who are currently study in Mathayom 6 or Grade 12 must submit an official letter confirming your student status (issue within 1 month).   

                                    4. A certified copy of high school transcript

                                    5. A certified copy of an English Proficiency Test

               Submit all the documents to:

                        6) The applicants can check the payment status after 5 days at www.jc.tu.ac.th/bjm.  The details on exam schedule, venue and the list of qualified candidates will be announce later at www.jc.tu.ac.th/bjm

                        The applicants must check that they meet the program requirements according to the requirements announced. If there are any mistake from the applicants or the applicant’s qualificationsdoes not meet the requirements, the applicants will be disqualified.
