“We Honestly Didn’t Expect to Win.” — Eaindar Phyu Sin Aung, BJM Student, Thammasat University
Four students from BJM Program, Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, Thammasat University, teamed up with two students from Chulalongkorn University for a two-day AI Hackathon — and walked away as the winning team!

“To be honest, it was our first time ever joining a hackathon. None of us knew exactly what to expect, but we were ready to give it our all,” said Eaindar Phyu Sin Aung, one of the team members from BJM.
The first day was a rollercoaster — the team spent hours just deciding on their topic. At one point, different ideas caused a divide, but through open discussion and teamwork, they reached a consensus that became the foundation of their winning project.

By midnight, everyone was in full hustle mode. The Chula teammates took charge of the website development, while the BJM members focused on design, structure, and presentation. However, another challenge struck when their pitcher, Su Mon Hlaing, BJM student fell sick before the final pitch.
“We were really worried, but when presentation time came, Su stood up and delivered an incredible pitch — full of confidence and clarity. Her strength became our team’s strength.”

When the results were announced and their team’s name was called as the winner, the moment felt surreal. “All the stress, sleepless nights, and emotional ups and downs suddenly felt worth it. This win wasn’t just about coding or innovation — it was about teamwork, perseverance, and trust,” Eaindar shared.
The BJM Program is proud of its students’ creativity, adaptability, and collaborative spirit that led to this success. Congratulations to the team for making Thammasat University proud!
